Breezy ....
29th December 2024 (Sunday) 07.30 .... It's a breezy morning, the sun doesn't rise until until
08.45, so it's still dark. The weather forecast for KY9 is 'strong winds with light cloud' all day, so it will feel cold out in the open, but not as cold as we'd expect at the end of the year. I'm feeling almost spritely and hope to have 'leg stretcher', perhaps as far as the beach sometime today it depends on just how strong the wind is. It's breakfast time!20.00 I went for the paper, but it was to windy to go to the harbour so I set home by Balbuthie and Kinneuchar.... then changed the 'plan' and went to Ainster Store to stock up with food for the New Year. The shop was very quiet so I had a browse up and down every aisle.... and finished up with a few vital 'extras'.
The roads were quiet and I was back at Ivy before 10.00. When the messages were stashed in the appropriate places I had a well earned early morrrrrning coffee break By this time sunny intervals had come our way so I decided to go to the beach. The wind was strong, so a lot of wind chill (as was forecast), but it was warm in the sheltered places. That wisnae the beach! That said the beach was busy.... with well wrapped up holiday makers and their dogs. There was a good light about for the camera; and the sky was busy with clouds scuttling over on frisky wind. Like the holiday makers I was wrapped up, and never felt cauld at any time. In fact it was a pleasant half hour out in the fresh air; and there was loads of it.
23.00 I've been watching a programme on BBC Alba. Dr Euan MacDonald worked in Rotorua Hospital in New Zealand for six months and the programme covered his work and 'play' while there. He certainly seemed to enjoy his time in New Zealand; as I did when I spent two months there. New Zealand is a fantastic country.
We're in for a windy night; and it's to be wet and windy tomorrow, for most of the daylight hours. I think I might sharpen the drawing pencils! Fife is included in a Yellow Warning for rain and snow, active from midnight tonight, right through to midnight tomorrow night. I won't be going to the beach tomorrow.
