Beautiful Christmas morning .....

25th December2024 (Christmas Day)    "Merry Christmas to all my friends far and near" love

you all, stay safe. xx

10.45 .... We have an absolutely gorgeous Christmas Day morning;  bright, breezy and warm.   And nothing to do with Christmas) it's a good drying day!

I went down to the beach to catch the sunrise, but low cloud meant that the sun appeared, above the clouds, 6 minutes after actual sunrise time.   The beach was busy, and a big group of the 'Blue Tits' swimming club had either been in for a swim or were going in.   The camera battery went down and I didn't have a spare on me so didn't get a photo of them entering the water.

My Christmas Lunch is organised (even remembered to cut crosses in the bottom of the Brussel Sprouts);  how it will all turn out is sort of in the lap of the Gods.   Julie offered to bring round lunch, but I'd already done the tautties etc. last night so regrettably had to turn her offer down.   It was a kind thought;  and I appreciate it, and all the other kind thoughts and gifts from my neighbours.   Must go;  "Flap On".... it's morrrrrrning coffee time.

18.00   My Christmas lunch was a success albeit in a 'roond aboot kind of way'.   Everything came together at the right time and looked good on the plate;  it actually tasted better than it looks.   Anyway I took a photograph then 'got stuck in'.  The chicken was slightly drier than it should have been, but  Maggie and I were always wary of poultry and gave it extra time.   It was well cooked.   The roast tautties were perfect; I like roast tautties.   Anyway I enjoyed the main course, then had a healthy vegan dessert.   I'd forgotten about the vegetables, and didn't notice that they weren't on the plate until I was downloading the photographs!   They were still in the microwave.  I warmed them up, put some gravy in ... and that was my vegan dessert!   I wouldn't say it was the tastiest dessert I've had!

The new Wallace and Gromit adventure will be on BBC in about half an hour;  Gromit has already settled down to watch it, and I will be joining him soon.   Julie and Archie have just been round with Christmas nibbles;  something I completely forgot about when shopping the other day.
