Windy with light rain .....

26th January 2026 (Monday)     09.45 ..... Although overcast, windy with occasional rain, there's

a more promising look to the sky this morning;  signs of the cloud breaking up to give us some brighter weather.  The Fife Weather Cams, show cloudy with brighter bits;   I do believe we will have sunny spells today!  The air feels slightly colder than of late.... but hey ho;  I'm feeling positive.   I must not forget the PO van at 11.30!    Oh;   "light rain and a fresh breeze" is the weather forecast for KY9.

14.15    I can't say that we've had a lot of 'sunny spells;  but we have had a a few short blinks so sunshine.  Definitely a more enjoyable than the weather we'be had for the past couple of days.

When I went up to Elie to the Post Office van it was raining quite heavily, but it was only a shower so I sat in the car until the worst of it had passed over.   The PO van was quiet;  Lexie was the only other customer so posting the letter didn't take long.   By the time I left the van it was almost 'fair' so I decided to go to the harbour.  I stopped at The Toft, and on the way up from the harbour and have a variety of photies for the archive.    There were spits and spots of  rain at times;  but that didn't stop me enjoying my wee trip out.

I see on the News that Suella Braverman has defected to Reform.  I've never liked her:  always thinking of her as .... "a life support system for a mouth".   I suppose you could say that about a lot of politicians;  including her 'new' Party Leader Nigel Farage!  

It's afternoon coffee (and siesta) time.

22.30    This has been a bonnier day;  unfortunately it's back to 'windy and wet' tomorrow.   The wind is to freshen by morning, and we're to have heavy rain with strong winds (F8 - 9) by the middle of the day.   Disappointing, but it will moderate in  the afternoon.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
