Overcast and damp .....
18th January 2026 (Sunday) 09.00 .... It's not the bonniest of mornings, and the forecast is
"light rain and light winds" arriving in the afternoon .... and to be with us most of the day. A 'dreich' afternoon ahead! I'm going to visit Alice; it's a good day for chatting. Do we need to go shopping? It's shopping weather! I'll have another cuppa. It's the Final of the snooker today; John Higgins v Kyren Wilson: that should mean a relaxing afternoon/ evening. John Higgins is Scottish!.... and Kyren Wilson is English! .... and both playing brilliant snooker.
19.30 It has been a day of two halves with the weather; a dry and sometimes bright morning followed by a wet and miserable afternoon.
I enjoyed my trip to Methil to see Alice, and catch up with all the Methil news. Apparently there was "nothing happening". That said, the streets were busy enough when we went to Leven to do some shopping at B & M's. Alice bought some kind of steamer for floor washing, I bought honey, bread and teabags. Alice didn't see anyone she knew in B & M's, which surprised me, because most of Levenmouth people seem to know Alice. Alice worked as a Supervisor at Diageo. We didn't take long to do the shopping and were soon back at Alice HQ, and tucking into lunch.

Ensconced at Ivy (after bringing if the few messages I'd bought), I made a cuppa then settled down to watch the snooker.: and promptly fell asleep, as I normally do in the afternoon. I'll watch the evening session.
We're to have bonnier weather tomorrow; including sunny spells. Unfortunately there's also the chance of light showers.
I see that Tony Blair ... oops Sir Tony Blair, is in President Trump's 'Gaza Board of Peace'. I don't imagine that the Palestinians will be overly pleased by that. It doesn't look like proper, long term Peace, will coming to the Middle East anytime soon.
