Nice morning .....

19th January 2026 (Monday)     09.00 ..... It's a lovely morning, sunny with a touch of frost: 

there's rime on the car windscreen.    The rime will shift quickly once the sun gets going.   There's only a light breeze so hardy any windchill;  this could be a bonnie albeit cool day.    There is a chance of mist later in the afternoon.   

Myra is going to visit George (Leven Beach Care Home) and I was thinking of going with her;  but I have a cough so won't go this time.   Can't take a cough into a Care Home.  

13.15    I had a short walk up to the golf course, on what is now a lovely sunny day.   It's 5.7C in the shade so pleasantly warm in the sunshine.    Bob came round for a chat a wee while ago;  and is now off to organise Ann's lunch.    That reminds me;   I'm hungry.   

15.30    The Snooker Final was disappointing;  both players seemed to be nervous and never really settled down to give an entertaining display of Snooker.    Kyren Wilson deservedly won 8 - 6;  but I felt sorry for the spectators who had paid to watch, an exciting Final!.   There were flashes of magical snooker, but too few of those;  and too many nervy mistakes.   A disappointing Final, and end, to what had been an excellent, and  entertaining, week.

There's mist is blowing in from the North Sea now, after what has been a beautiful sunny day;  and warm for this time of year.   

 Yellow Warning (rain) has been issued, covering Fife;  starting at midday on Wednesday through to midday. on Friday.   With a bit of luck it will miss us; but we have been warned!

22.00    In his message to the nation today, The Prime Minister clarified the UK's position re Greenland:  we're going to take the sensible way, and try to calm things down rather than have confrontation.    The problem is o that President Trump doesn't do 'pragmatic';  he is determined  that Greenland will be part of the USA.    That means, the Greenland, European and UK politicians have a bumpy path to walk!    It will be interesting watching it all being sorted out!   President Trump is using people, on his march towards 'Making America Great Again'.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
