Nice morrrrrrrning ....

12th January 2026 (Monday)     09.45 .... It's 'bright and breezy' with a fresh SW wind.   it could

Belliston Farm Cottages.
be a good drying day, but there's threat of showers in the afternoon..... but, I'm ignoring  the threat of showers, and I have a small washing on the line.    The temperature is at 8.7C just now, so it isn't cold (compared to what it has been lately), but the frisky wind  means there is some wind chill.... but it's drying my washing!  I might go for a short walk after morning coffee' because it's the best morning we've had for a while.

15.30    It has been a lovely, mostly sunny, and warm day;  the thermometer got up to 10.7C in the afternoon.  When looking for a goodie to have with morning coffee, I discovered that I was out of 'Blob's Digestive Biscuits'.    I Instantly went into  'Major Flap On' mode, and decided to take the car for a run to 'The Store' to top up with Blob supplies;  and food for Alberto!    I'd have a mini spot of retail therapy.

When in 'The Store' I met a painter from St Minnins, John Cook was his name.   We got round to talking about the painters I used to work with around the East Neuk (65 years ago).   John, I(I think that was his name.... but it could be Jim, told me that he does a lot of work around 'The Ferry'.  I enjoyed chatting, and found out that Robert (Horsburgh) and Davie Budd are still in business, but only working to 'part time'.    Anyway we went our separate ways;  John (or Jim) to get something for his lunch, me to s]replenish the 'Blob Stock of McVitie's Digestives.

The Arncroach road near Belliston Farm.
After the wee shopping session I came home by way of Kellie Castle, Belliston Farm, Robin Gray's and Kinneuchar.   There were a few places with big puddle on the roads but it was much drier than I expected it to be.

This has been the best 'drying day' for a while:  my washing wasn't 1005 dry, but I'll iron it in the evening and it will be bone dry in the morning.

22.30    I'm enjoying this spell of warmer weather;  I imagine that we all are!    Tomorrow is going to be much the same as today
