Nice morning ....

7th May 2026 (Thursday)      09.15 ....  It';s a nice morning but there's a chilly SW breeze;  and a

chance of light showers.    In spite of the threat of showers, I'm going to hang out a washing, and hope that they miss us.  I don't think I'll be be going far today, because of the cold air, but I have to go up to Elie  in the afternoon, to pick up my prescription. 

19.00     The weather has been kind for my washing day;  only one, short, light shower and that began just as I was taking the last towel off the line.    It was actually warm  in the sun in the morning; but was colder in the afternoon.

I didn't go up to Elie in the afternoon;  I have an appointment for a blood test at the surgery tomorrow morning do I'll  pick up my prescription on the way.  
With it being a warmer morning than expected, I was tempted to go out on The Buggy, but decided it would be better to stay out of the wind.    This last cold has been a bummer, but I think it's on it's way out at long last.    I'm a happy boy.   
I watered the flower tubs;   that was the heaviest job I did today.   This has been a drier Spring than usual, so I'll have to keep on top of the watering.   Most of the day has been spent in The Hutte drawing or doing Soduko's.    


Today has been the local election voting day:   it will be interesting to see what the Final results are around the UK.   Counting doesn't begin in Scotland until tomorrow morning.There should be some English results tonight which will shoe hoe Reform and the Greens have done.   I imagine that 'Oor Wullie' should hold on the North East Fife. 

We have a lovely evening now;  I'm going to make a cuppa and go out to The Hutte and do some
research.   and enjoy the late evening sunshine, inside The Hutte.   The Thrush should be starting up soon.

The breeze is going to be from the SW tomorrow morning so it should be reasonably warm.    The wind is to veer to the Easterly on Saturday to give us a cool weekend.... and maybe even damp on Saturday.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
