Low cloud ....

5th May 2026 (Tuesday)      11.00 .... when I woke up, I thought the clock was at 07.45;  I looked

again .... it was at 08.45!   Oops .... I'd certainly  had a good night's sleep.  Result;   'Immediate Flap on' at Ivy!   I'm now 'operational';  having showered (and that was hot), had my porridge (with sultanas) and caught up with the News.   It's now 'morning coffee time!    After that the 'plan' is to go to Elie and hand in my prescription.    So far I have only been as far as the gate;  and can tell you that the air is cool!  Oh ... and Ferry Road is quiet!

19.15    There has been a chilly Northerly wind today, and not a great deal of sunshine.    Anyway, I went to Elie and handed in my prescription;  and the High Street was busy, so I didn't hang around.

I decided to to home by way of Abercrombie and Colinsburgh.   I changed my mind before I reached the Abercrombie junction at St Minnins:  I'd go to the 'Store' and so some shopping.   I could hardly believe it, when walking across the car Park I met a couple I knew!    I forget their names, but the it was the Chemist (Pittenweem) and his Wife!    We had a short chat about the Craw's Nest, but it was too cold to stand for long in the cold breeze.    Feeling cheerful I wandered into The Store and had £51 pounds worth of daundering up and down the aisles..  I didn't see anyone else that I knew, but chatted to a few holidaymakers.

I came home by the Kellie Castle Road;  and yes, it was busy.   I don't think there are any 'quiet' back roads in the East Neuk now.   But the countryside is looking brilliant and I enjoyed the meandering run home.

The snooker Final was, as expected, a close match with Wu Yize (China beating Shaun Murphy

(England) 18, frames to 17.   Both played brilliant snooker, with some magical shots in every frame.   Either o them would have been a popular winner but it was Tu Yize that clinched it in the 'end'.
