Bright and breezy ....
14th May 2026 (Thursday) 09.45 .... It's nice, fresh morning, with a mix of clouds and sunny
spells; the wind is from the NNW do it isn't warm out in the open. It will be cosy in The Hutte! There was a strong smell of 'kippers' in the this morning; I assume it was coming from the smoke house in St Minnins.. This was early in the morning when the breeze was lighter with East in it.It seems like the Labour Party MP's are determined to have a Leadership contest. Floundering around looking for a new leader is plain daft; give the present Leader, and his team, the five years that they deserve after the 2024 Election victory! Anyway, do any of of the 'Leadership' contenders have the qualities needed to lead the country? ..... or represent us at the International Table? I think the MP's should think again, because they are getting close to the cliff edge!
13.30 The weather has been a mix of showers and sunny spells; iggzactly' as was forecast. Me? .... I've done the ironing (that I threatened to do last night), and hooverin. I must admit that the new Hoover does it's job well; it would be easier if I remembered about the slide thing. Anyway, I've done my 'work' for the day; I was thinking of going round the villages in the car, but it's raining just now. It's probably about now I should have an afternoon coffee, and a catnap.
20.30 I had a short walk ,up to the phone box, to get today's photographs; it was sunny at the time but we've had a few light showers It was cold in the wind so I didn't stay out for long!
The Labour Party MP's have moved to the edge of the cliff; they appear to be starting to organise replacing the Prime Minister. That move could take a while; the 'magician' that is expected to replace the PM is Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and he is not an MP at the moment.
I can't see how changing the Prime Minister will make any difference: the 'new' Prime Minister willstill have problems to face, as Prime Minister Starmer, and his Team, have since they won the Election in 2024: and are at last beginning to see some reward for their hard work to date! That said, it will be interesting to see what happens when the 'new' Prime Minister eventually takes over. He might have a magic wand!
