Nice morning ....
15th May 2026 (Friday) 09.39 .... We have a mix of shower clouds and sunny spells this
morning; and there's a brisk Northwesterly wind so it will be cold on the golf course and beach! It's 9.6C on the patio thermometer. I'm going to 'work' in The Hutte, and potter around Ivy today because it's too cold to go 'out and about'. Ferry Road has been busy this morning; having said that a car went past just now, and it was silent. It must have been on battery power. Off to put the kettle 'on'!15.00 I fancied a wander to Nana's Seat, but only went as far as Ferry Corner, because it was too cold. I thought the wind had moderated; it had, but obviously not by very much. I might o for a run in the car in the evening. At the moment we have a batch of heavy looking clouds drifting over, but I don'tb think we'll get rain! In the meantime, I'm going out to The Hutte to contemplate; and do a Soduko.
19.00 Although the wind has moderated it is still cold; apart from that it has been a nice, but cool, Spring day. However it wasn't nice enough for me to go to Nana's Seat: I might get 'up' early tomorrow morning and wander down.
I've had a quiet day. A big 'Thank You' to Julie for bringing round a bowl of Spaghetti Bolognese (very tasty SpagBol)... enough for three meals, so I put one in the freezer! This means that I didn't need to make food today, so this has been a 'lazy' day; not a 'quiet' one I mentioned earlier.
Things are moving fast with the Labour Party now. One of the Manchester MP's has resigned his seat, so that there can be a bye-election, which Andy Burnham has to win to become an MP! After the bye- election, the 'mechanism' for the election of a new Leader of the Labour Party, is set in motion, and the New Leader/Prime minister chosen from those that put their names forward; including the present the Prime Minister.
There are a few if's and but's before that happens, but that's the gist of it! Should Andy Burnham become Leader, he's lucky that he can choose to keep a lot of the present Cabinet in place, to get on with the jobs that they have begun to see bearing fruit! It's a tricky business is politics! AndTop photograph : new telegraph pole. (slightly to the left of centre of the photo. Middle and Bottom photographs - Ivy garden flowers!
