Nice morning ....

19th May 2026 (Tuesday)     09.30 .... It's a nice morning with light rain just now;   therefore a low

pollen count, and, more importantly the flower tubs have been watered!    I'm a 'happy boy'.   Actually we could have thundery showers in the afternoon, perhaps even thunder, so O won't have to water the tubs for a couple of days.   I'm even happier now than I was a couple of minutes ago!    Off to have a, celebratory, early morning coffee.   The sun is breaking through so I'll have morning coffee in The Hutte.

15.15    I've had a busy day!    What have I been doing?.... Re-applying for my Blue Badge, and by the time I did all the bits ans pieces necessary it takes a while.    At least it does nowadays!  I had to take photographs  for ID, address, .... and the photograph for the badge!   The last took the longest because I had to comb my hair;  something I rarely do!  

When I was younger it was different;  I was always combing my hair, and squeezin' any 'plooks' that would blemish my delicate skin.   It was hard being 'me' when I was young!    Mind you;  it's harder being me now;  and I don't have 'plooks' to squeeze!   It's boring without 'plooks'... ofttimes I wish I was back in the 'Plook Age'!   Anyway that's the 'Bloo' badge sorted for another three years!    Off to relax, with a cuppa, and do a Soduko out in The Hutte!

18.30    The day is ending with a lovely evening;   and we had a nice shower o' rain that did the needful to the flower tubs.   So .... I'm a 'happy boy' again.    This has been a busy day, and I'm glad I got the Blue Badge done.    The application goes to Gov.uk and they send it to Fife Council.    It can take up to 12 weeks to get done.

22.45    By the time the Slow, High Speed  Train ,is running from London to Birmingham I will be 101;   and I was thinking it was going to be running before I was 95.   .All that money spent, so that people  could get to Birmingham 20 minutes sooner.   Now that it's a Slow High Speed Train it won't even be 20 minutes. 


All they had to do was depart London 20 minutes earlier!   Mind you, the engineering that has gone into doing it is amazing.    In 30 years all signs of the groundwork will be covered in grass, bushes and even trees.   All there will be is a High Speed line ready for Slow High Speed trains.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
