Wet and windy .....
27th January 2026 (Tuesday) Holocaust Memorial Day.
10.00 .... we have a wild morning; the wind is freshening just now, but should begin to moderate in the
middle of the afternoon. It is not a nice morning to be walking dogs. It's not as cold as I thought it would be, but it is going to turn colder later. Anyway, "strong winds with heavy rain" is the weather forecast for today!... so let's enjoy it the best way we can.Kirsty, Myra and Albert, are going somewhere for lunch today, to celebrate Kirsty's 24th birthday. It's not a great say for going far.
17.15 We, ('The Team' )Kirsty, Janet Myra and Alberto, eventually set of for Leven Golf club for lunch; but found it 'Closed' and ended up having lunch at 'Blacketyside', a Farm Shop/Restaurant, between Leven and Lundin Links. It is always a popular place no matter what time of year, and surprisingly, it was even busy today. I mean the weather has been horrid all day (and still is). The wind and rain hasn't let up all day, though it is supposed to quieten down soon. Tomorrow is going to be different: "light rain showers and a gentle breeze (SE). There's Yellow warning for the chance 'ice' (as in cold stuff; not the Minneapolis ICE) that includes Fife, for tomorrow morning.
We had an excellent helping of mince and tautties for lunch! after after the Waitress brought us gammon steaks for some unknown reason. Apparently a lassie had pressed the wrong 'Order' button. (Four of the Staff would most likely end up with Gammon Steaks for their dinner!) Anyway it was very enjoyable, even if we did have to wait a wee bit for our 'mince and tautties' to arrive at the table.
Strange Hoverfly.
Myra and I got free coffee at the table; and the four of us got free goodie on the way out because of a wrongly 'pressed button'. That was very thoughtful of the Blacketyside team. We arrived back in the Royal Burgh at 15.00. after an trip out. A big "Thank You" to Kirsty who was driving.
I'm not really hungry but I'd better have something: I'm a growing boy after all.
22.30 Well it has been a wild (and wet).... and it's still wild, but not as bad as it was. Hopefully it will all have quietened down by the morning. I plan to go and make an appointment with Loraine to get a<badly needed, haircut.
I've enjoyed 'today' even though the weather was miserable. Going to Blacketyside for Kirsty's
Birthday lunch was a good ending, to what had been a lot of looking for a place that was Open. I'm well ready for bed now.
Comma butterfly.
Today's photies were not taken today!
