Nice morning .....

28th January 2026 (Wednesday)     09.45 .... "Sunny with a light breeze (E)" is a most welcome

change of weather;  a nice morning for walking; ....with, or without a dog!  There's a chill in the air but it's not frosty:  it should be a nice day for being out and about.   It's a 'play day'!    I'm going to have another cuppa then go up to Elie to make an appointment Lorraine to get a haircut.   Slight 'Flap on'.... got a bonnie morning to contend with!

17.00    We've had an absolutely gorgeous, sunny day;  and it was warm in the sun when I came out of the hairdresser after having my haircut.   It felt like a Spring day, so I went down to the harbour, and got myself a load of photographs to 'play' with tonight.

David was working on his boat;  he told me that 'Crane in' is on the 13th April, so loads o' time to get things done.   The villages were looking bonnie in the Spring sunshine;  especially after the drab days we've been having.    I stopped at The Toft to see if we had any stray birds in but didn't see any.

From the Toft I went up to Chapel Green to admire the villages from the other end.   I feel so lucky living where I do.  Even though I'm not physically able to wander all over, as I could do up until a year ago, I still get excited when I go out with the camera.  Taking  photographs and working on them on the computer, is a satisfying, and enjoyable hobby.

After lunch I had my siesta as usual.  That was followed by an afternoon mug o' coffee.   I then contemplated getting the buggy out and going for a run up to Chapel green on it;  however the air had turned chilly, and went straight to the breathing tubes. so that 'plan's was quickly put back on the shelf.   And I had taken a load of photies in the morning.   The fact that I'd had my hair cut probably made the air feel colder. 

22.30    Today's photies were taken ... well 'today' in Elie and Earlsferry.    What a difference sunshine
makes!    The only regret I have, is not taking  taken 'The Buggy' to the Hairdresser and the harbour etc, when it was warm in the sun.;  I just didn't think at the time.   There will be other warm days coming.   
Anyway, I have, and I'm sure we all have, enjoyed thee sunshine.    Tomorrow is going to be 'nice' but with the chance of light showers.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
