Sunny ....

4th January 2026 (Sunday)     11.45 ..... we have a bonnie sunny day here in Elie ans Earlsferry;

Balcarres House
but it is cold, with a light Northerly breeze.   It was 1.3C on the thermometer 20 minutes ago, when I was hanging out a  small washing.   I don'e expect the washing to dry completely;  as long as it doesn't freeze it should dry a wee bit.

I've been reasonably busy, having done an ironing;  the next thing will be a cuppa then think about a 'lite bite' lunch.    I might venture out in the car in the afternoon.

20.00   It has been a lovely sunny day, but also a cold one.   Surprisingly, the washing I hung out almost dried;  I thought it might have frozen.   Anyway it's in and drying in front of a radiator.

With there being a cold wind I went for a run, up to Balcarres, in the car.   Everything, vegetation and wildlife, is resting at this time of year;  before the excitement that comes with Spring.   I like the freshness of Spring, and will appreciate and enjoy it even more this year after this cold spell.   Actually, there's a Yellow Warning for possible snow and ice for Fife tomorrow.   Winter is not yet past;  and it's to be colder tomorrow.    The cold weather keeps me 'in'.   There was a shower of  snow in Methil this afternoon!   We might have a shower  tomorrow.

When I was out I could see snow clouds moving down towards the East Coast of England;  I hope my neighbours, who were travelling to Suffolk, got home without any problems.

My thoughts tonight and are with the families that lost loved ones in the devastating 'New Year' fire in Switzerland:  I don't know what the ceiling was made of, or decorated with, but it certainly shouldn't have caught fire as easily at it appeared to do.

The international News is mostly about the USA going into Venezuela and capturing the President. and his wife  The actual capturing of the President from his home has been a spectacular success;  unfortunately what happens next might be a problem.   I'm thinking of Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

My 'plan for tomorrow?    It all depends on the weather, and if the roads have snow and ice on them.    If
not,  I'll go to Methil to visit Alice.  Of course Methil might be deep in snow by tomorrow morrrrrrning.   I have shaken off the cold;  it's the cold weather that's bothering me now.    I'll see how the weather is, and how I feel in the morning.

Off to make a cuppa:  I might even have a goodie with it.
