Wet and windy ....

23rd January 2026 (Friday)    09.30 .... The weather is not quite as wild as it was yesterday;

but still wet and windy!    It's another 'stay in and stay warm' day for me.    I might go for a run in the car in the afternoon  (when there's a chance of brighter spells), but it will only be 'roond the villages'.

13.45    I've been round the villages in the car, and even got out of the car to take some photies.   It was windy at the time, with light rain, but it wasn't too bad at The Toft.   The harbour was .... wild so I only took a few photographs from inside the car.   Chapel Green?.... it was wild;  and I's to leave the car to get the three photographs I took up there.   I was glad to get back to Ivy and a hot cuppa.

I've been browsing the Alberto Archive this morning;  and I'm going to do some more browsing after I have an 'after lunch coffee.

19.15   The weather has been unpleasant most of the day;  and it's wet and windy just now so we are in for another dreich night.    Mind you the weather isn't the main talking point in today's News!   That position has been grabbed by the 'Leader of the Western World'!... by insulting NATO soldiers who fought in the Afghanistan conflict.  This is a typical example of the nonsense he spouts in his official speeches.    457 UK soldiers lost their lives in Afghanistan,  with many more wounded.   The Prime Minister is right in suggesting President Trump should apologise.

This has been a computer/ rest fay for me.    Having a migraine in the middle of the day was a bit o a bummer.  Anne came round (with 'Scooter' the dog) in the afternoon for a chinwag;  that a was a pleasant  three quarter s of an hour.

22.15    It's a wild night... and it's wet, so wet roads tomorrow morning.

Today's photographs : Top - Pte. Daniel Gamble " 2nd Battalion The  Parachute Regiment,  Memorial Seat in Uckfield Churchyard.   I didn't know Daniel, but his Memorial Seat was where |I did a lot of relaxing and thinking.   President utterances made me angry, and I immediately thought of Daniel, his Memorial Seat.....  the other soldiers that lost their lives in Afghanistan.
