Nice morning ....
1st January 2026 (Thursday) I'll begin by Wishing all my readers a "Happy and Healthy Year 2026".

We have a quiet morning; there;s a layer of thin cloud just now, but sunny intervals forecast, and a fresh NW wind. The sun is burning off the light cloud so we should have sunshine shortly. But it's going to be cold in the brisk wind. This mean that I shall be 'confined to barracks' most of the day.
Sadly, there always seems to be something horrific happens around Christmas and New Year and this Hogmanay it's a disastrous fire in a bar in Switzerland My thoughts are with all the people involved with all the families of those killed, injured and affected by that fire.
15.30 I've had a quiet, enjoyable, morning watching the Annual Concert from Vienna; now I'm going to have a light lunch. It's a lovely sunny day now, but very cold in the brisk wind. That hasn't stopped people from going out; I've seen loads of folk going up, and down, Ferry Road. Me?....I'm going to venture out, as far as the patio thermometer: I'd like to go down to Nana's seat but but it's too cold to go that far.
21.15 When I went to the patio thermometer in the afternoon i was reading -0.2C which suggest that it could be cold tonight.
I've had a restful day (lazy) reading my book and watching some TV. I had a short walk out to get some photies for the 'blog' at sunset time; the first sunset of 2026. I also took another photo of the moon; the first one of 2026. It's slightly fuller than it (the moon) was last night. It will a Full Moon (Wolf Moon) on January 3rd.
I'm hoping to be slightly more active tomorrow, but I'm still lying low with this cold; don't want to
spread it around. From what I hear it's all over the country anyway, but I'll stay in and keep what's left of my cold to myself. I'll have a 'JT' before bed tonight.
