Lovely morning ....

15th January 2026 (Thursday)     09.45 .... I's a gorgeous morning;  my washing is on the line,

and I am about to have another cuppa before going to Methil.    I've been watching the astronauts coming home from the Space Station;  it's amazing what we humans can do when we're not fechtin' we' each other!   Of to make that cuppa.

19.00    It has been bonnie sunny day;  and an excellent 'drying day!    enjoyed my visit to Methil to annoy Alice;   we had a really relaxing few hours just chatting, having cuppas ..... and lunch.     On the way home I went into the garage to have the windscreen washers topped up;  did a bit more chatting and eventually arrived home about 14.00.   I was ready for another cuppa and a siesta by this time.

When I woke up, I watched the snooker;  and brought in and ironed the washing.    Funny thing is that I am really tired tonight... and can't think what I have done to make myself tired.   Having dais that, I have enjoyed the sunshine.

22.00   The Tour de France (both Men's and Women's) will start in the UK in 2027;  that's exciting news.  The Men's Tour starts in Edinburgh on 2nd July (2027) with Stage 1 being from  Edinburgh to Carlisle;  a distance of  184 Kilometres (114 Miles).     The Women's Tour starts from Leeds on July 30th (2027), with Stage 1 being from Leeds to Manchester.   This is big news for UK cycling enthusiasts.   I'll watch the race on TV from the comfort of my chair.   18 months from now?.... I hope to be be bumbling around, most likely on 'The Buggy', by then!   


It's chilly out tonight, could be a touch of frost in the morning.    I plan to charge 'The Buggy' battery tomorrow: "sunny intervals with a light breeze", so a perfect day (apart from a chance of a shower in the middle of the day) for this time of year.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
