Snow ....
6th January 2026 (Tuesday) 09.45 .... Bit of a change this morning; we've had an inch of snow
fall overnight! I ventured down to Ferry Corner to get a few photographs (I probably shouldn't have, but I took my time and had my stick) for the Archive. The sky is mostly overcast so we might get another shower; could be of snow, or sleet.... but best of all rain! I cancelled travelling to see Alice; it's not driving weather .... for me anyway. There is traffic going down Ferry Road but going real canny. It's a 'stay in and warm' day for me. And it's cuppa time!
16.30 Thankfully the snow had melted away by early afternoon; and we now have a breeze that should dry the roads by morning. Unless we have more rain overnight. The temperature is 4.8C just now.... and I'm hoping that it stays above freezing all night; if it does freeze we could have slippy places on the roads. The sky is clearing and we had a 'sunset' after a dour, and wet afternoon.
I spent my day as as planned; staying in and staying warm. It was raining doe a good part of the afternoon; and the temperature dropped rapidly after midday. Most of the afternoon I watched TV (Foyle's War) and slept. Anyway the roads are clear now, and I should get 'out and about' tomorrow.
Weather permitting I will visit Alice tomorrow. I think th roads will be OK; anyway I won't leave until the sun is well up in the sky! Clouds? ..... hopefully no clouds tomorrow! I'll see the weather forecast in the evening.
22.45 It has been a miserable kind pf day as far as the weather went: however at least the snow has gone and the forecast for tomorrow id brighter. Iain and Jackie are getting plenty snow at Auchnagatt; they have dry drifting snow, unlike the 'wet' snow we had this morning. It made 'The Ferry' look different for a few hours..... but I'm glad that it has gone.
I should hopefully get to Methil to visit Alice; and maybe even have some retail therapy. It all dependson what the weather is doing.
I've been keeping up with the News; most of which reminds me that the World is in a 'mess' just now. I suppose we in the UK can relax: the President of the USA won't have ro take us over like he's proposing to do with Greenland: the 'Special Relationship' means that we are already the 51st State in everything but name. I worry about how the UK is going to be in day 50 years!
However, there's always some cheerful and positive things going on that gets on to the 'News'; so it's not all 'doom and gloom'. The problem is the kind of politician that's around just now: and the weather we had today!
