Wet and windy ....

24th January 2026 (Saturday)     10.00 .... We have another wet and windy morning, in fact I'd

say it is the dreariest looking morning we've had.....  so far;  probably because we've had a few dreary mornings in succession.    However we can look forward to the chance of sunny spells in the afternoon!    ph.... 'Blob' had his breakfast at at 07.10;  it was dark, so I had to switch the outside light 'on'.   Happy 'Blob' .... and a happy 'me'.      

It wouldn't be so bad if we only had the bad weather to worry about;  we also have the political mess that the World is in.    Me? ....  I'm looking forward to the brighter, sunny spells!   The political mess? .....  the politicians have bumpy road to travel sorting that out..   In the meantime I'll force myself to put the kettle 'on' and have morning coffee!    

14.30    The sunny spells I'm hoping for have yet to appear on the Fife Weather Cams;  I have a feeling the 'dreary' weather is with us for the daylight hours at least.   "Light rain and a fresh Easterly breeze "is forecast for KY9 tomorrow;  with a good chance of 'sunny spells' in the afternoon.

I was thinking of going out in the car, but it's raining, so that idea had been 'parked' for the day.   I'm going to make a cuppa then browse the Alberto Archive.   

22.30   President Trump has acknowledged the bravery of our service personnel in Afghanistan.    His comments the other day were well out of order;  and caused much hurt to the families of those who lost their lives, or were injured out there.   I know how I felt when I thought of Pte Daniel Gamble, 2nd Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. 

This has been another dreary day of weather;  and tomorrow, though it should be brighter, will still be windy.... and wet at times.    It is the January Gales season right enough.   If the weather is amenable I might visit Alice;  she is bound to need annoying!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
