Overcast and wet ....

27th July 2025 (Sunday)    11.00 .... We've had a dreich start to Sunday, but the sky is showing

signs of breaking up:  the wet weather is forecast to move away, to leave us with, 'light rain showers and sunny spells' in the afternoon... and be warm and humid.   The sky is already starting to brighten!    Happy afternoon ahead!   However, the showers might hinder the plan to finish off the painting.

14.30   It's a nice, sunny and warm day now.  I might get the paint out after this update.   There are shower clouds around, but none of them are very threatening.   It's 21.5C,  so not as hot as yesterday, but it will be get hotter.   

I will go into Ivy and the last Stage (21) of 'le Tour.   I've just discovered that the cycling is on (TV) at the same time as England Women play Spain in the Final of the Women's Euro's.   At the moment Michael and Janice are away for a walk so I'll have to make up my own mind.   I get the cycling highlights at 19.00.  Of course, if England's Women win I'll get the highlights of that victory for the next year!   Tricky problem;  but I'll probably watch the cycling and  jump across to the football now and again.   

 Problem solved:  I've just discovered that the football kick off isn't until 17.00.  There must be two hours of pre match blurb before the kick off!

17.00   It's 22.5C now, but there's a fresh wind so not mauchless.  I painted  one side of the shed and will do the back after this update.   It's hot but the wind makes it bearable.   Janice and Michael arrived back from their walk;  and that's when I woke up, having fallen asleep watching the last Stage.   It's never exciting until the last 50 kilometres or so.

21.15    England beat Spain 3 - 1 on penalties to become the Women's European Champions 2025.   It was not the most exciting game of football I've watched, but it passed a couple of hours.


I think I should be able to finish painting the 'mobility scooter' shed tomorrow;  the weather forecast is favourable.   When I looked out this morning and saw the rain, I went back to bed and eventually got 'up' at 08.45.   It'a a long time since I did that.   I plan to get up at my usual time tomorrow and get on with the painting.   If it's an interesting morning I might go for a paper!   We're going to 'The Ship Inn' for lunch on Tuesday so I'll get a few photographs of the harbour then.

With me not going 'out and about' just now because of the heat, today's photographs are from the 'Alberto Archive' (2014).   After the rain there was a healthier air and I actually enjoyed being out painting.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...

Light cloud with drizzle .....

23rd July 2025 (Wednesday)    08.00 .... It's not a good drying day;  the sky is cloudy with drizzle Leven Station blowing in a light breeze.    That said .... it's a nice quiet morning and the pollen count is low. Unfortunately the pollution level will be 'M'.   'Me'? .....  I'm a "happy boy" because I did all the washing yesterday.... and we will have sunny spells in the afternoon!    "Light cloud with light winds" is the KY9 weather forecast;  the same as London!   It's breakfast time;  after which, I'll finish off Michael and Janice's room. 09.00    I've had a migraine which is a bit o' a bummer, but I've taken the pills and having another cuppa before I wrestle with the downie.   Although damp it's a nice morning;  and the sky shows signs of brightening up now and again, but the Fife Weather cams are all showing 'misty'.   Must 'go' slight "Flap On" this morrrrrrrrrning. 22.00...
