Nice morning ....
14th July 2025 (Monday) 08.20 It's a lovely morning; there's a fresh, breeze from the SE, with a
lot of clouds around. 'Light rain showers and a fresh SE breeze' is the forecast ... and there's a "good chance" of showers in the afternoon. It could be a good 'drying morning', if the showers miss us. Going by the forecast the afternoon looks like being showery.... so I'll hang out the washing that's in the machine ASAP. The breeze is warm; a good drying wind.10.00 The washing is out but I expect it might get another rinse shortly; rain isn't far away by the look of the Western sky. There is the chance of thundery showers; I'll keep an eye on the weather. It looks like it's raining at Lochgelly; going by the weather cam. There is a thundery feel to the air so I have the feeling the much needed rain, might be of the 'heavy' variety.
15.30 It's grey, damp day, with light drizzle blowing through on the breeze at present. Although in resting 'mode' now, I had a busy morrrrrrning. I decided to bring the washing in just after 11.00 because it was dry enough to iron by then. The rain came on about 15 minutes after I brought it in; it has never been of the 'heavy' variety. I did the ironing, then some 'ousework, and had a sandwich lunch before settling down to watch the 'le Tour'.
Today's Stage (10) is a mountainous Stage involving 10 climbs and 9 descents; the 'Finish' is at the top of the last climb. This kind of weather is excellent(?) migraine weather; yes.... I've had a migraine .... and taken the pills. Having only been as far as the gate with the camera; you can see what Ferry Road looks like just now. It hasn't changed.
18.45 Thankfully, Stage 10 of 'le Tour' was on TV; something to watch on a dull and damp afternoon.
And it had an exciting climax at the top of a 3 kilometre climb. Tomorrow is a 'rest day' for the cyclists, after a hard day climbing: and for me, after a hard day watching them.I see that the sky is beginning to show promising signs towards the West (on the Lochgelly cam); we might end up with a sunny spell before sunset! Tomorrow's is going to have sunny stat to the day changing to light rain showers and sunny spells in the afternoon.
The photograph of the wet, bedraggled Wood Pigeon (one of Trigger's pals), shows the kind of afternoon we've had.
