Nice morning ....

26th July 2025 (Saturday)     08.45 .... There's a lovely fresh breeze this morning, and some clouds

that might give us the odd light shower.   Sunny intervals are mentioned in the weather forecast so it will probably be warm in the afternoon.   I'm hoping for a cooler air rather than the hot, 'mauchless'  air we've had for the past few afternoons.   I just have to stay in when it's like that.   Michael and Janice are going to St Andrews for the day.

16.30    It has been a nice day, but hot (and mauchless) sheltered from the breeze.  Lucky for me that we ('The Team')  cancelled going to the East Pier;  I'd have struggled to walk any distance in the heat.   In fact I'd have struggle to get up the stair at the East Pier.    And I've had a migraine too, so not one of my better days for doing things.  I managed to paint the individual pieces of the scooter shed (twice), but that was all I did before the heat of the day drove me inside, to watch Stage 20 of le Tour.   I have taken a couple of pills to calm the migraine headache.   Ferry Road has been busy with traffic, both vehicular and human.   I wonder if this is the last weekend of, what used to be called, the 'Glesgae Fair'?

Janice and Michael have just got back from St Andrews;  I might paint another bit of the scooter shed once the pills kick in.

20.00    The top photograph is the Nave of Holy Trinity Church St Andrews;  courtesy of Janice and Michael who  had a wander round the kirk when in St Andrews today.    I have photos of Holy Trinity, taken many years ago, in the 'Alberto Archive'.    In fact Maggie and I were at a Craft Fayre (Fife Craft Association) there on a Wedding Day, and we have some of that on a video.

Now that the sun is lower down it is much cooler .... and I can go out.   Not that I'm going anywhere because of the migraine;  but if I wanted too, I could go wandering.   The last time I experienced this hot, mauchless weather, was in New Zealand.   Out there it even bothered me when out in the car.

The 'plan is to go to bed early tonight to sleep off the migraine, and hope to be more active tomorrow.   The weather forecast is 'good', so it will most likely be hot from midday to 18.00.   Tomorrow is the last Stage of 'le Tour' so I'll have that to watch.

I didn't realise just how deaf I was until Michael plugged his hearing aids into my lugs today.   I thought everyone was whispering , when, in fact I am seriously 'hard of hearing'.    I have been 'referred', so should eventually get my own hearing aids.   I look forward to that.   It was brilliant being able to hear 'normally' again, albeit if only for a few minutes.

21.45   Now that the sun has gone down I'm feeling normal again;  maybe I should go on night shift until this weather breaks.   The 'Troops' are watching 'Skyfall',  I'll put the kettle on and make a cuppa before bedtime.
