Nice morning ....

17th July 2025 (Thursday)     06.45.... We have a lovely, sunny and peaceful start to the day; 

there's only a light Easterly breeze, and I'm feeling 'almost bright eyed and bushy tailed'.   I'm going to get the bike out and go for a turn to the harbour.   There's a slight chill in the early morning air, but the sun is starting to make it's presence felt;  it will hot by midday.   

11.45   All was quiet at the harbour.  Apart from  couple of dog walkers,  a lady out for her morning exercise,  and  Tom out at his creels.... it was a very  quiet morning.  The breeze was fresher than expected so the bay wasn't as smooth as I'd hoped.   However I am happy with the photies I have to 'play' with tonight.

12.00    That's me in for the afternoon;  it's 22.6C already, therefore too hot for this 'mature' person to be outside.   It's a beautiful day for being on holiday.   The beach will be a popular place this afternoon;  and we have a big beach because the tide is on the ebb (low tide at 13.36).   

14.45    I ventured out to the patio, thinking I'd have a cuppa out there;  it is unbearably hot!.... 24.5C.... so that idea was scrapped.   
There's a change on with the weather, with the sky clouding over from the SW... and it's mauchless (humid);  very uncomfortable.    There's thunder 'in the air'.... with the nearest thunder storms being off the West Coast at the moment.

20.30    I've had an enjoyable day.... apart from it being too hot (and mauchless) in the afternoon.   I watched Stage 12 of le Tour in between doing some tidying up for Michael and Janice coming next Wednesday.  The 'summer cold' I had has gone, so, tomorrow  I'm going to Leven and Methil, to annoy Alice and do some shopping.   
I'm a happy boy.... it's raining!   I don't have to water the tubs this evening.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
