Light rain ....

6th July 2025  (Sunday)    08.30 .... It's a quiet morning, but damp with 'light rain and a light

breeze'.    Just now the  breeze is from the West ,but it's going to wander about and come from various directions throughout the day.   I've been for the paper(s), and took one photograph before the light rain came over.  Thankfully the rain started at 08.15 and is now gently watering the flooer tubs.  The sky should break up later to give us 'sunny spells'.... with the light rain now and again.     It's a nice day for watching le Tour de France.   (It started yesterday).   I'm a happy boy.


14.30    We've had a fair amount of light rain up to now, but the sky has brightened up and we could be in for some sunny spells with light rain showers.   The weather in France at 'le Tour' has been much like ours except they had heavier rain.    They've biked out of that onto dry roads;  hopefully all the way to the Stage 2 'finish' at Boulogne-Sur-Mer.

I've been doing 'ousework in between watching the Tour:   'Maggie'  must have had cream crackers and cheese for lunch;  and left crumbs on the carpet.... and sand from the beach.   I've 'oovered and even did a wee bit dustin'.   

It's sausages and mash for dinner, but,  right now I'm going to have an afternoon coffee to waken me up after an afternoon catnap.

20.00   The weather has been 'mixed'.... but (luckily for me)  the light rain watered the tubs, and might do so again  overnight.   I never went out again after going for the paper:  I nearly went out on the Mobility Scooter after lunch, but chickened out because of the traffic.   I'm thinking that the best time for me is first thing in the morning, long before traffic is busy.

watering can in the sky!    Actually I am quite good at the watering;  and  even speak to the flooers.  They are 'happy flooers'.

Tomorrow is going to be a more settled, and brighter day;  "sunny  with a fresh Westerly breeze" being the weather forecast for KY9.   What?.... no light rain?   Hmmm... I'd better fill the watering cans!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
