morning, with only a light Easterly breeze (veering to the West in the afternoon). Light rain showers are forecast, with possibly a spell of more persistent rain in the middle of the day, with sunny spells in the afternoon. At the moment it's fairly bright... with no showers. I haven't made a 'plan' for today, but might go down to Nana's Seat after breakfast. Ferry Road is quiet just now; I don't hear any hammering this morning. Then again the decorators are 'in' No 3 now, and paint brushes are quiet things. I've suddenly remembered that I might get a delivery today so better stay around Ivy.
14.30 The rain arrived about midday and the patio tubs are enjoying it; I know that I am. I won't have to water them this evening. As you can see fro the top photo I went down to "Nana's Seat"; and spent a relaxing 15 minutes thereon. There were a few dog walkers on the beach, but I didn't see any early morning swimmers. It will be different next week when the main holiday season begins; especially if we get some decent summer weather.

There's a yellow warning for thunder storms (active this afternoon) that includes Fife. At the moment there are storms, in the middle of the North Sea (off Newcastle) but nothing closer. The air does have that thundery 'feel' to it. Anyway, the rain cleared a thundery headache away.... and I'm feeling playful now.19.30 It's a lovely evening, and, after that nice spell of rain in the afternoon (think flooer tubs) I thought about having another wee wander, but the auld tubes don't like something that's in the air so I took the car for run round the villages.
The roads were quiet... even the streets were quiet, but loads o' parked cars; which suggests that the villages are busy with 'oliday makers already.
22.30 My word... we've had one heavy thundery type shower ... but no actual thunder. Tomorrow is going to |

be another day of mixed weather. Good for the flooer tubs but not a good 'play day'. Anyway; after a bright start to the morning we're to have "light rain showers with a moderate Westerly breeze". I might get the bike out and go up to Chapel Green in between the showers.
I almost feel sorry for Rachel Reeves (Chancellor). The Government did a 'U' turn re the Winter Fuel payments for Pensioners: raising the threshold was the sensible thing to do and should have been thought about sooner. There is no doubt that the Benefit system (PIP etc) needs overhauling; but, my word, it's going to be interesting to see how it's done. Especially with the 'Class of 24' back benchers. That said; the 'Class of 24' will begin to calm down when the next General Election begins to loom over them. Interesting times ahead.
