Lovely morning ....

13th July 2025 (Sunday)     08.30 .... Oops.... I've finally remembered to update The Hutte!   Sorry about that.  I was slightly excited by the reflection photographs this morning!

11.30   The papers weren't in when I was up at the 'paper shop';  so I went to the harbour.   It was absolutely

gorgeous (as Elie and Earlsferry always is).... so I enjoyed myself with the camera.    So much so that I forgot to go back to the 'paper shop';  I came home by way of Balbuthie and Kinneuchar.  Since then I have done some gardening (pruning), sorted out the morning's photographs;  and finally got round to updating The Hutte.

It's warm .... 21.2C (shade) already so it will be hot in the afternoon.   Far too hot for me being outside.   I might 'potter' out occasionally, and do more pruning.

14.45  I thought I'd be brave and do some more pruning;  buy my word.... it's hot! ..... 25.3 to be exact.   Not a day for me being out, so I cut a few twigs then gave up. ... and had another pint of water.    I'm actually enjoying the sunny weather, which is (hopefully) getting rid of the last of the winter's ailments, but it is too warm, and there's not much of a breeze.  The light breeze is from the SE.   I'm going to watch 'le Tour, and have an Eton Mess .... minus the strawberries, cream, and meringue.   An ice cream cone.

17.00    This has been the most uncomfortably hot day yet (28.1C) on the patio thermometer);  it was even warm inside Ivy.   That is unusual.   It certainly has been a brilliant day for the sun worshippers on the beach.   I've been drinking loads of water .... and cuppas.
It's the 'broon' and 'bloo' bins tomorrow;  so I'm going to have another session cutting back the Lemon Balm;  the 'broon bucket' will have a lovely aroma this week.

19.45    A  bank of low cloud has moved in from the North Sea, and the lovely day is ending grey and damp.    Drizzle is forecast overnight, turning to light showers tomorrow morning;  bringing an end to this hot spell.   I wonder if I need to water the tubs?    I'd better because it has been hot today.   We're to have mixed weather tomorrow, with the chance of much needed rain (maybe even thunder), and the temperature where it should be in July.   That said, by the middle of the week it should be warm and sunny again.... but not as hot as the past few days.

I meant to mention this yesterday;  Balcarres Gardens Open Day (Scotland Gardens Scheme) was this
afternoon.  It was far too hot for me going, but I imagine it would have been busy,; it's always a popular afternoon out.

22.00    I don't know if it has been raining, or it's just heavy mist, but everything is wet;  so I'm not going to water the tubs.   I've been out to check and there's heavy mist/drizzle blowing in the wind... almost light rain in fact.     Oh.... and it's warm.
