Autumnal air ....
28th July 2025 (Monday) 08.30 I went for a paper this morning, and was pleasantly surprised
to find that we have a fresh, autumnal feel to the early morning air; but that will disappear once the sun gets going. However we might lose the hot mauchless air that we've had in the afternoon for the past week or so. Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze, and the low chance a light shower, is the forecast for KY9 today. Could be a good painting day.21.30 After the clouds cleared away and the 'autumnal air' warmed up, we had a gorgeous summer's day. It was a brilliant day for painting (and doing a washing). 'The Troops' went along to Crail for to have a walk along a bit of the Coastal Path .... they ended up at Caiplie Caves (Coves locally). While they were out I finished painting the individual parts of the shed, so that 'we' (mostly Michael and Janice) could start to assemble it in the afternoon.
Janice and Michael arrived back about 13.00, by which time the painting had been done, and all was ready to go. Janice made salad rolls for lunch, before I went to have a catnap, (the air was hot by this time) and they set about organising the shed for assembly. When I woke up they were starting to put it together.
22.30 The 'scooter shed' is 90% done: just finishing touches to do and felt on the roof. It looks neat, and won't take up much space, so I'm happy with that.
Tomorrow we're going to 'The Ship Inn' for lunch, I hope it isn't too hot. There's a change in wind direction tomorrow (to the SE) so it might be fine; and I hope we don't have to walk too far.
We've had a busy day; I know I'm tired and I didn't do much of the work. Then again, I'm olde... er .... more 'mature' than the 'troops'.
I see that President Trump is in Scotland, as is his friend our PM. President Trump built a huge fence round Turnberry so that Mr Starmer wouldn't have a problem finding a 'fence to sit on'. That was very thoughtful of President Trump.
The President and his entourage (including Mr and Mrs Starmer) then flew, in Air Force one', the 250 miles to Lossiemouth. Therunway at Aberdeen isn't long enough for 'Air Force One' to safely land. From Lossiemouth they flew in the helicopter ('Marine One') to Trump International Golf Course (on the NE coast of Scotland north of Aberdeen) where the President is opening a new 18 Hole golf course tomorrow.
The 'collie dog' patio solar light lit up. I don't know how long it stays lit at night, Will have a look if I'mm wandering about in the middle of the night.
