Cloudy .....

25th July 2025 (Friday)    08.30 .... We have a cloudy sky this morning.... with the  occasional light

shower .... but it's a nice peaceful kind of morning.   The light shower (we've only had one and it only lasted about five minutes) has upset my 'plan', which was to spend the day quietly, painting the individual bits of the scooter shed before assembly.    However,  I think the sky will clear to give us 'sunny spells' without light showers, so my 'plan' is only delayed for a wee while.   About the length of time it takes me to have breakfast and another cuppa.   

17.45   Although breezy in the afternoon it was far too hot for me;  I abandoned the painting 'plan' and went in to watch Stage 19.... and fell sound asleep.   I woke up when Michael and Janice came back from 'The Ship'.   I then fell asleep again and missed the end of the Stage.   As far as the painting went?.... well, I started puttying the nail holes;  then Michael finished that job.    I am useless in the heat nowadays.  Anyway for the young folk this has been a lovely day, and I'm sure the beach will have been busy.   I might get the paint out in the evening.

21.30    Michael made "mince and tautties";  he adds 'secret ingredients' to the mince and it was really flavoursome.   The 'Troops' have been busy today;  they go out for long walks and stuff (things I used to do)  in the heat of the day, so are tired tonight.  The patio thermometer reached  25.3C this afternoon; there was a breeze blowing but it didn't do very much to the temperature.   Might have been different on the beach.   They are going to bed early tonight, after a hectic day.  

'The Team' (Kirsty, Myra and Alber) are going to The East Pier (St Minnins) for lunch tomorrow.   The patio thermometer reached  25.3C this afternoon;  there was a breeze blowing but it didn't do very much to the temperature.   Might have been different on the beach.

That's my 'Dad' dancing in the photograph.   I don't know where he got the wig;  and I don't know who the 'girl' is.... but they're enjoying themselves.

It's a pleasant evening now that the heat has gone.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Lovely, fresh morning ....

6th August 2024 (Tuesday)    10.30 .... it's a beautiful morning, with a nice fresh breeze.... if only I Aldershot 1958. could go out on the bike!   Anyway... forget dreamin';  today is my appointment with the Consultant, at Queen Margaret Hospital (Dunfermline);.... and I'm hoping to find out what the 'plan' is.   Michael and Janice are out in the car.... shopping.   They should be back in about an hour or so.    I've tidied up the kitchen and will now have a cuppa while watching some of the action from Paris.  22.00    This is more like summer.... in fact I could get to like this weather.      Michael and Janice went up to Cupar in the morning, while I got myself organized  for the Queen Margaret appointment.   Michael and Janice arrived back with lunch, Fisher and Donaldson macaroni pies, with FD's for sweet.   We set off for Dunfermline in plenty of time and arrived with t...
