Light cloud ....

7th September 2026 (Monday)     10.00 .... It's a nice morning just now, with short sunny spells; 
but cool in the fresh SW wind.   Light rain is forecast to reach KY9 in the afternoon.     Me? .... I'm not going to be not be hampered by such trivial things as 'light rain' and frisky winds!    I'll have morning coffee out in The Hutte, regardless of the weather!    Anyway the light rain might miss us.... and it's sunny just now!     'Flap on';  got the kettle to activate!

17.15   I haven't been anywhere today but feel really rested  and ready for action tomorrow:  I'm going to Methil Library to have my hearing aids serviced!    That means I can annoy Alice and mooch a cuppa  when along there.   

The light rain mentioned in today's weather forecast didn't bother us too much;  in fact I think we only have one real shower, which I missed because I'd fallen asleep.    However I noticed the patio slabs were wet and thought;  "it's been raining'.   Clever boy.  What did I so next? ...  put the kettle 'on'.

20.30   Going to the Toon Hall yesterday has got me thinking 'local history' again;  I'm going to finish off the stuff Maggie and I started,  which I eventually went back to work on in 2019.    There's not much left to do so I should get it up on the blog pages in the next few weeks.    I also have Kinneuchar Kirk to finish off;  that was something I started on my own when COVID disrupted everything.   

21.45    I've had an interesting, albeit quiet day;  but, more importantly, I feel well rested and ready to go 'out to play' tomorrow.    I'll 'play' after I get the hearing aids serviced.    Maggie used to blow through the tubes of her hearing aids;  that isn't done now, not with the hearing aids I have anyway.  My aids get fitted with new tubes.  and, the lady that changed them the last time said I should have that done every three months.    The hearing aids have made an amazing difference to me;  my hearing is almost 'natural' ;  although, a voice from behind, can still be deceptive as far as direction goes.

Alice and I are going to B & M's after I'm 'done and dusted'   at Methil Library.   That's good;   I'll buy
another set of pencils!    I don't now if I need pencils but I could do with another sketch pad!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
