Nice morning ....

23rd March 2026 (Monday)     13.30 .... It's cloudier now that it was in the morning, but still a


nice enough day.... in spite of a chilly breeze.   

I had to go to Elie to hand in a prescription, so I thought I'd take a face mask with me.    Unfortunately, when I went to put on the mask at Elie;  nae mask.   (I found it lying on the kitchen table).   I dashed in and out of the Chemist's, \and didn't go to the paper shop.   However, I did bo for a run in the car, that took in the harbour, Balbuthie Loan, and Kinneuchar.   That gives me photies tae 'play' with in the evening.

The doorbell rang about 11.30;  I then remembered that Alice had said there would be a 'delivery about that time.   I went to the door.... and was surprised to find that Alice was the 'delivery'.   She had brought a picnic lunch, birthday present and card(s).    Aye ... this is my birthday:  I am 'two fa".... oops .... nearly made a mistake:  I am 88 today.

17.15    I've had a quiet, restful  day: that said I am always at the furthest away point when the phone rings.   I decided to beat it in the afternoon, and took the phone with me when working on the computer.  Brilliant idea.   I decided to have a cuppa and catch up wi' the News on the TV:  yep the phone rang:  it was in the bedroom.... I was in the living room (sometimes 'Lounge').  So the 'brilliant' plan didn't quite work!

Now I'm in the bedroom, in front of the computer, so where is the phone?.... that's right.... it's in the living room!

22.30    We've had some showers of light rain in the evening.    Tomorrow is going to start bright, but turn windy and wet by the afternoon.    I'm having my haircut tomorrow morning;  that's the main action for Tuesday.   I'll do housework in the afternoon.   

I've enjoyed my birthday, even though it means I am another year older!    The phone has given me a lot

of exercise today;  so I've decided to get a new phone .... with two handsets.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
