Sunny ....
26th March 2026 (Thursday) 09.45 .... It's a lovely, sunny, morning.... but there's a cold breeze
so cold out in the open. Iain just phoned to say that he forgot he has a Dental appointment first thing tomorrow morning, so they (Jackie and Iain) won't arrive until nearer lunch time... on Friday. I just remembered, I put a washing on a while ago; it will be ready to hang out. It's a good drying day ... but it will be cauld on the hands hanging out washing! I'll put the kettle on before I go out!15.00 It was cold hanging out the washing: actually that reminds me... the washing must be almost dry. I'll check after this update. Drizzle is mentioned for the afternoon, and I'd rather bring in the washing than let it get wet again.
I went to the Chemist to pick up my prescription this morning; Elie seemed to be busy, with traffic so I didn't hang around. With it being a nice enough morning I went up to Balcarres to check on 'Sarah'; I don't usually go into the Estate during the working week, but the mood was on me. 'Sarah'? .... her full name is 'Sara Van Veen', and 'she' is a Magnolia tree. Anyway, she is looking bonnie as she always does in March. I had a short walk round the Woodland Walk then back home for lunch.
19.00 The weather has been nice enough today; though there was dampness in the air, in the afternoon; however you will be happy to know, that my washing was near enough dry buy then.
I've had a quiet day; in fact I had along siesta in the afternoon. Since then I've caught up with the 'News'. Nothing new there; both the main wars are blundering along.... the word 'Peace' rarely mentioned. "There's no such thing as a good war, or a bad Peace!" (Benjamin Franklin one of the Founding Fathers of the United States).
But all is not 'doom and gloom'; the Balcarres Woodland walk is looking bonnie, a lot of tidying up being done just now. And, I was passing East Lodge .... "When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze"....(from "I wandered lonely as a cloud' by William Wordsworth). And that's exactly how it was; except there is no lake near East Lodge!
I'm looking forward to Iain and Jackie coming tomorrow; and it's Michael's (No1 son) birthday
tomorrow! I bought the birthday card weeks ago, but forgot to post it; it's an age thing. That's my excuse anyway. How wold is Michael ; my word he's catching me up... that is old!Today's photies; Top - Sarah Van Veen, Middle - Rhododendron flower, and Bottom - Sarah's crowning glory.
