Nice morning ....

18th March  2026 (Wednesday)     09.30 .... We have a lovely sunny, and warm morning;  in fact it

could be the warmest day of the year so far down in 'Sunny Sussex':  unfortunately for us there's a cold front moving in.  That said,  it' a lovely morning just now. 

I was looking forward to going to the Friendship Lunch at Colinsburgh today,  but I'll have to put that off as I'm feeling under the weather.    It's an interesting ailment is asthma (frustrating but interesting), yesterday was a brilliant day for me;  today? .... not so brilliant.  Probably the cold front already moving in!   I'll stay 'in' most of the day, but might go for a run in the car in the afternoon.   Must remember to phone Myra.

19.00    My word ... it has been a beautiful Spring day;  the temperature on the patio was at 15.2C at one point;  the warmest day patio this year, so far.   I'm looking doe a lot of warm days this Spring, Summer, and Autumn.   

I felt better once the sun got going, and got the bike out to charge up the battery;  but the battery was at 4 bars (out of five) so I didn't charge it.   I did a couple of  lengths of the patio, then took the bike out to the pavement, but didn't go out on it.    Ferry Road has been busy all day;  (as are all the roads in the East Neuk nowadays).   I might get out of bed early tomorrow morning, get the bike out,  and go round the Ferry before the morning 'rush hour'.   But that depends on the weather!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
