Nice morning ....

28th March 2026 (Saturday)     09.00 .... It's a lovely, sunny morning, but my word, .... it's cold! 

There's a wintry feel to a fresh Westerly wind, so definitely a a wrap up well day.   Having said that it will be warm sheltered from the wind, as it will be in Kellie Castle garden;  which is where we will be after morning coffee.    I'm going to make another cuppa, before venturing out to check the thermometer!

21.30    My word..... I am shattered after  a busy day 'working' in the garden.    The greenhouse is tidier, and 'The Hutte', having been cleaned out, (and 'oovered) is, once again suitable for having morrrrrrrrrrning coffee in... and afternoon tea!    This could of course be 'fake' News.    replace 'I am', in then first line of this update, with 'Jackie and Iain' and you have the actual true 'News'.    They have done a brilliant job of tidying up, and de- cluttering.   I will clean 'The Hutte' windows tomorrow, then take some photographs inside:  it's absolutely amazing the amount of work they have done!    I'm a happy boy tonight!
While Jackie and Iain were doing that, I was checking the two boxes of old postcards they found in 'The Hutte':  and sorted out old papers to go into bin.

Jackie and Iain will be going home tomorrow, so I will be able to clean the Hutte windows as planned;  and the kind of job I can do!    Anyway I can potter about much happier now that the real work has been done.    I'm off to have a cuppa, and blether wi' 'the Troops'  before bedtime.    It's tiring watching other folk working.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
