Nice morning ....

5th March 2026 (Thursday)     09.45 ....  Yesterday was supposed to be a rest day, but I didn't even

have my afternoon siesta.    Today I am going to Methil to visit Alice;  apart from driving this is going to be a rest day!    'Flap on'..... got to give 'Blob' his second breakfast.

19.30    I've had a busy day.   Went to Methil to visit Alice, had a cuppa and blether, ten went shopping to 'Home Bargains' and Sainsbury's, then  back to HQ for a 'picnic lunch'.   By this time the sky was clouding over, but it was warm.    We had an after lunch coffee before I set off for 'The Ferry'.   I was back at Ivy, and the messages away by by 01.50;  and ready for a cuppa.  I didn't fall asleep.

Since then I've been working of the computer and having a restful afternoon.    The rain that was threatening in the afternoon has arrived;   we have heavy rain just now.   Tomorrow is going to be my 'rest day':  I have work to do n the computer.   At the moment I am going to have a break from computer work, and  find something to watch on TV.   I might even have an early 'bedtime Horlicks'.

21.45    I was watching the 'News' from the Middle East this morning, when one of the BBC reporters was telling us about Akrotiri.     Limassol was in the background! .... and it wasn't the Limassol  that I remember.   Modern Limassol is... well modern, with multi storey 'sky scraper buildings.   Then again it's 65 years since Steve and I biked around Limassol.

The Middle East Was has brought a multitude of memories back to me;  today's photographs are from those happy days.

The heavy rain we have just now id to be with us overnight, then turn to drizzle by morning time.    However, We can look forward to a brighter afternoon with sunny spells.   I'd get the buggy out but, although sunny, it's going to be colder,    I might go out in the car.    Having said that I have a lot of research (browsing)  to do tomorrow.

Today's photographs:  Top - Curium within short walking distance of GHQ MELF.    Middle - One of

the Limassol streets that Steve.   EOKA slogans are still on the walls.   We were escorted by a Turkish policeman.  Bottom - Limassol harbour in 1959.   This photo was taken by Steve an his way out the the troopship;  I think it was the HMS 'Nevasa'.
