Breezy and damp ....

12th March 2026  (Thursday)     10.00 .... It  is not a bonnie morning here in KY9, but not as wild

as I though it was when I first when out to the bucket.   When putting in my hearing aids I must have inadvertently pressed the volume  button.   The wind sounded like a howling gale.     All sounds  normal now on Ferry Road.   WE have a wet and windy morning, but there are slightly promising brighter bits in the sky.   However it's to be mostly windy and wet all day.    I'll do computer work.... and some ironing.

15.30  Although still windy, the rain had moved away, so  I ventured out to the car.... and had a run up to Chapel Green, to get a breath of fresh air.    Well, Chapel green had an abundance of that (fresh air);  there was a half gale blowing.   And it was cauld.    I had a short walk across The Green, took a few 'Today' photographs, and hurried back to the car;  having had my ration of fresh air for today!    Chapel Green was quiet!  In fact everywhere was quiet.   By quiet I mean there wisnae anyone else wandering about!   Having said that;   Ferry Road has been busy with traffic.

I've just had a look at the Weather forecast;  and discovered that there's a Yellow (possible) ice and snow warning out for bit's of Scotland.... including Fife.   No wonder Chapel Green was cauld.

19.00    We had a nice sunny spell to the afternoon;  I almost went out for a short walk, but it was too cold.   And still is.

I've had a fairly busy afternoon on the computer.    I've still got a lot to do.  It looks like tomorrow is going to be cold;  so another stay in day.

I've been keeping up with the 'News, much of which is about how the Iran war is having repercussions all around the World:  President Trump will become agitated if this continues.   Even if America makes a lot of money from oil when the price goes up;  the cost of the war, especially with the fancy munitions they are using in Iran, will be taking a lot of that.   Starting a war is the easy bit (as Putin found out with Ukraine);  finding a formula for the Peace at the end of it id not easy ....  and,  this is the war to bring the Peace to the Middle East!  I hope it does .... but time will tell.

Plan for tomorrow? ..... I haven't really thought about that.   Depends on the weather and how I'm
feeling in the morning.   Right now I'm going to fine something to watch on the tele.

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
