Nice morning ....

29th October 2025 (Wednesday)     09.15...  There's a lot of cloud about just now, but 'sunny

intervals with a moderate breeze' is the forecast so we should have a bonnie albeit cool, day, with the chance of showers at any time.   A good kind of day to be a 'rest' day.   Actually I have a washing going through the machine.... the showers might will miss us.    Oops.... we have a shower passing over just now.   

14.15     Although it has been cold all day, we have only had that one spell of light rain;  and the washing I hung out is almost dry.   I'm a 'happy boy'.   

The work I did yesterday caught up with me today, but, having had an extended cat nap, I am starting to feel frolicsome.   Well maybe not quite frolicsome but definitely brighter.   In fact I thought about going out on 'The Buggy', but there's still the threat of showers.... and cold.   It's 9.2C on the patio and will feel much colder bout in the open.   'The Buggy' stays in and warm.... as does the driver! 

20.30   Iv'e just been out at the bucket and I can tell you it is cold, but there isn't much wind.   The temperature is supposed to rise as we get to the weekend;  but I'm thinking that might be down in 'sunny Sussex'.   Tomorrow is going to start bright and sunny but we should have lovely light rain (think floo'er tubs) by evening time.

As you can probably guess from today's photographs I went for the Balbuthie? Kinneuchar run in the car this afternoon.    Tomorrow I need to go to the Skeith Centre and might stop at Pittenweem on the way home.

Yesterday's 'work' did catch up with me;  I spent alot of the afternoon cat napping.   Then plan is to get up early and go to the Skeith Centre, then drop in to 'The Store'  to get a few bits and pieces..    I'm going to write a shopping list, because I have a habit of forgetting some of the less common, but vital things I need.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
