Misty .....

13th  October 2025 (Monday)     Israeli Living Hostages Homecoming Day.

09.30 ....It's a quiet misty morning, with the sun trying hard to burn back the mist;  we should get 'sunny spells' later.

The scenes of jubilation from Israel, as the remaining live hostages were brought home,  were shared by  people all around the civilised world today:  and I'm sure i wasn't the only one with a tear in the eye at the time.

President Trump might be 'different' as far as American President's go;  but he, got the job done.  History will remember him for that.   No matter how long the journey it begins with the first step.... and this is a big step:  One that will hopefully lead to peace in the Middle East.   There's a lot of hard work to be done, by a lot of brave people, to bring a lasting Peace to the Middle East;  but they can do it.

15.15    Unfortunately the sun never really managed to burn off the mist, and we've had a mostly drab looking and misty day with occasional drizzle.   Not a pleasant day really.   I took a turn out in the car ,to fuel it up at Colinsburgh, but the forecourt was busy at the time so I just c\ame home via Kinneuchar.   Drizzle was falling at the time, so I never even stopped to take any photographs.

As expected today's News has been about the momentous events in the Middle East.   The 20 living Israeli hostages are back home, as are 1700 Palestinian  POW's captured during the 2 year war.

President Netanyahu and the Leader of the Opposition made eloquent speeches welcoming Mr Trump to the Knesset, and  thanking him for  bringing the war to an end.   President Trump then spoke to the Knesset (Israeli Parliament).   And did he speak.   I think when President Trump is confronted with a microphone (today he had two microphones) he thinks he 's a skilled orator;  and an orator he is not.  m Not a skilled one anyway!   He reminded me of  an old Presbyterian Minister giving a long , boring, sermon.    However orator or not, he has done a remarkable job in bring the two year war to an end:  and received well deserved applause for his 'peace' making.
