Bright and breezy ....

22nd October 2025 (Wednesday)     10.45 .... We have a bonnie sunny morning, with a frisky NW

breeze so there is a wee bit of wind chill;  but it's an excellent drying day.    My washing went out at 08.45.    

Other than getting the washing out I don't have a 'plan' for today;  however I'm thinking I might go for a run in the car after morning coffee.

17.00    As per decision over morning coffee, I louped intae the car and had a run up to Kinneuchar Kirk;  on what has been a gorgeous sunny day.   I wasn't able to walk all round the kirk yard, which is what I had in mind.    But I enjoyed being out in the fresh air, and browsing the grave stones.   I didn't realise that it's 8 years since 'Jimmy' died;  I had in my mind 5 years.   Time flies right enough.  I'm at the age now where browsing headstones brings back happy memories!

It has been the perfect drying day;  all I have to do is a bit of ironing in the evening.   I did think of going out on 'The Buggy' in the middle of the afternoon, but I was too tired after  the  wandering I did at Kinneuchar.  
It's taking a  long time to shake off this cold;  this makes me think it could have been a 'man cold'... they are really bad!  

Anyway I've enjoyed myself today, and might do the same again tomorrow. if the weather is like it has been today.  I'm ready for some food now!

22.30    There's a chilly air tonight.... and it's to be colder tomorrow;  with light cloud, with few 'sunny spells'.   The winter togs will have to be given a shake soon.    I'm going to have 10 minutes on 'the pedals' before bedtime.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
