Nice, breezy morning ....

5th October 2025 (Sunday)      10.00 .... The wind is much quieter this mornin;;  it's peaceful

compared to the past 48 hours..    The shower towels are on the line so I'm 'happy'.    The cold (it's a 'man' cold) is running it's course.... including.   I haven't been anywhere, but might go for a run in the car later in the afternoon;  after I've done some more 'ousework.... and made an Eve's Pudding.   I'll weigh and peel the apples after this update.

19.45     This has been a quiet day for me  spent most of the time pottering about inside Ivy.    It has been a nice enough day as far as the weather went, but too cold for me to venture further than the clothes lines.  It was a good drying day and the towels dried perfectly.    Ans I had a bit of ironing to do so I haven't been totally idle.

Time certainly flies;  as I found out from the photograph of the Dow Salver (Crail) that Sara got for me on Thursday.   I thought that it was the late 1980's or early 1990's that Maggie won the Down Salver.... it was 1978!    47 years ago?   It doesn't feel like that.

I've been looking at the weather forecast and if is excellent;  light rain tonight (takes care o' the floo'er tubs) ... and, bright and breezy tomorrow.   I'll spend the day shaking off the cols as I have an appointment with Laurie (Nurse) on Tuesday.    Actually I might phone the Surgery and get an appointment for later in the week.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
