Misty ....

15th October 2025 (Wednesday)     09.30 .... Good News this morning.... the barometer

reading has moved for the firs time in days;  OK it only fell by a millimetre, but it's the first sign of a change in the weather.   That reminds me I'd better water the tubs!    KY9 is forecast to have 'sunny intervals with a light breeze' today.;  the sky is already looking more promising than it has been for nearly a week.

19.45    As you can see from the Balcarres Crag photo we ended up with a bonnie, sunny day; and I took advantage of that.    I got 'The Buggie' out and set her up to be charged;  The setting up doesn't take long but the actual charging can take up to 5 hours.   Today it took three.    Anyway she is fully charged.    I didn't go out on her today because Ferry Road was busy. (the workmen are still in Flat No 3).   The other job I had to do was water the tubs.   I did that after lunch.   Then fell asleep.

I must have been tired because I slept for nearly an hour;m  and woke up feeling almost adventurous.   I had a cuppa then decided I'd go up to Balcarres in the car, refuelling her at Colinsburgh on the way. Balcarres was quiet, then I realised it was 16.45;  all the workmen would be finished for the day.   There was a bonnie late afternoon light about, so I had a good time with the camera.

The trees have yet to change completely into their Autumn colours, but you can see and feel Autumn all around.   Everything is sort of getting ready for winter I suppose.I'll go up in another week or so:  by then the trees should be at their best.

Tomorrow I have an appointment with Laurie (Nurse) at the Surgery.   My six monthly blood test.   This is the appointment I had to cancel last week because of the cold I had.

All three photos were taken on Balcarres Estate today.   I notice that the The Lodges and Cottages, that

used to be for the workers on the Estate are now let out.  In fact I think they are now mostly holiday lets.

We (the Lawrie family) lived in 'East Lodge' when my Dad worked on the Estate.   It was a lovely Lodge and right beside the 'Crag' so we had loads of places to walk and play.    The Den Burn was full of Brown Trout then, and good fishing.  Those were the 'good old days'right enough.
