Nice morning .....


2nd October 2025 (Thursday)     09.15 .... The sky is overcast, but it's dry with only a light

breeze.... and it's warm.    The wind is going to freshen and we're to have 'heavy rain later.   I'm choked up with, what I think, is a 'common cold',  so won't be going further than the car for the next couple of days.

18.00    It has been a a quiet day... a good 'rest day'.   That said we decided to go for a breath of fresh air in the afternoon, and went to Pittenweem Braes, where 'JB'  went down to the Tidal Swimming pool and took a few photographs;  some of which I have used today.   It has been mostly a grey day, though we did have a couple of short 'sunny spells' in the middle of the day.


21.00    'JB' made a really tasty stir fried chicken and vegetables, with rice for dinner tonight;   I enjoyed that.   I should try making that healthy sort of food more often.    Alice does it.... and I'm sure I could learn to do it too.   I can't eat spicy food, but there was no spice in 'JB's dinner.   For dessert John hand an Empire Biscuit.... and I had a Fudge Doughnut.
Today has been a good 'get rid of this cold' kind of day.   I'm still choked up, but my tubes are beginning to clear so I'm moving in the right direction.   I have top go to the Skeith Centre tomorrow, then a Blood Test on Tuesday.   The COVID and Flu boosters I get on 26 November and that will be me ready for the winter.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
