Cloudy but nice and quiet .....
1st February 2026 (Sunday) 09.00 ..... There's a brighter look to the clouds this morning....
and the Fife Weather cams are showing broken cloud: dare I suggest 'sunny spells? Yes...lets go for it; we could have a few 'sunny spells' this morning! And there's better air this morning; I might get out for a short walk later. Right now it's kettle 'on' and organise the cafetiere time; then settle down to watch Laura Kuenssberg (BBCLauraK).14.30 The sun broke through about 10.30, and we've had long sunny spells, with a gentle breeze ever since! This is the best weather we've had for a while so I thought I'd venture down to Nana's Seat. The first thing I noticed was that a lot of sand has blown up from the beach into the dunes; as you can see in the top photograph. I met Chris (Mennie), coming home from walking the dogs (Skye and Rhum), and he mentioned a big clearance of sand at the Breakwater; which explains the sand on the dunes!
The beach was bust with folk out enjoying the sunshine! They were enjoying walking the beach: and I was enjoying being out with the camera.
20.15 We have bonnie evening , with the first Full Moon of the year; it's visible so I'll take a photograph of it for the Alberto Archive. This Full Moon is called the 'Snow Moon'; which is apt for this time of year. There's slight chill in the air but I con't think the temperature is going as low as 'frost'. Snow? .....I don't want snow.
22.45 There is a lot of broken cloud tonight but I managed to get a photo of the 'Snow' moon. It's a
nice night, and, thankfully, not too cold; I had to wait for clear gaps in the clouds to get a few photos.I don't think we'll have frost in the morning. I might get 'The Buggy' out tomorrow if it's a day like it was today.
