Windy and wet ....

6th February 2026 (Friday)     10.00 .... We have another windy and wet morning;

Photographs courtesy BBC 2

and
is forecast to be thus all day.    Not a nice morrrrrrning to walk the dog.   In fact it's not a nice morning to go out;  with or without a dog.without a dog.

I am am watching the curling from Italy (Great Britain v Sweden,    Actually the weather is unlikely to bother me much at all today, as I have  the Winter Olympics from Italy, and work to do on the computer.  I switched the kettle 'on' before I did this update so you cab guess what I am going to do next.   Wash the breakfast dishes?    No;  t hey are already in the dish washer.    It's morning coffee time.

13.45    Bob came round in the morning and we had a long chat about the problems of today's World.  I think the main conclusion we reached was that our generation  enjoyed a less intrusive life;  you know before mobile phones, computers, and the mass marketing that's all around us today.... and will only get worse.   Was there life before mobile phone?   You bet there was.... and an enjoyable life it was too.   of course, those  were our 'good old days'.

17.00    I've just had a turn round 'The Ferry' (in the car);  it' still raining.
 'The Ferry' was quiet, and no dog walker,s or ordinary walkers, were seen.    Hardly surprising really.

The GB Curling Team played two matches today (and won both) so, 'dreich' outside ;  he TV has been entertaining.    The actual opening ceremony If Winter Olympics 2026 is tonight.   I'm looking forward to that.

23.45     I watched the Winter Olympics opening ceremony on BBC2, so all my Olympic photographs over the next two weeks well courtesy of the BBC.   The the Olympics shows that sport can bring Nations together in friendly rivalry.    Peace and togetherness;  yes that's what we need in the political world too.

Today's photos are from the opening ceremony; lighting the Olympic flame at Cortina.  I have a lot of

photographs to sort out tomorrow;   the weather forecast for tomorrow is amenable  to sorting out photographs.

 A big "Thank You" to all the hard working folk at the BBC, who bring events, such as the Olympics into our lives.    I'm a happy boy tonight;  and a tired one!
