15.15 The cloud evaporated rapidly once the sun got going and we now have a lovely, warm afternoon. A wee bit too warm for me being outside; but perfect for drying the jerseys I washed this morning. I had a reasonably busy morning in the garden trying to get rid of some of the weeds (mostly the nettles that Maggie wanted for Tortoiseshell butterflies laying their eggs on. I've never actually seen any sign of caterpillars for the past few years so I might get rid of them (the nettles) next Spring. One interesting thing I did find on one of the stems; I came across one nettle stem with a type of fungus Nettle Cluster Cup Rust, (puccinia urticata) that likes nettles. I've never seen it before..... it shows that we are never too old to learn something new! I gave up working outside an hour ago because it was too hot ...23.6C.
20.30 It's a lovely evening after a hot afternoon; the highest temperature of the afternoon was 25.4C. And it's supposed to be warmer tomorrow.
I've watered the tubs... actually Chris watered the tubs ....I filled the watering cans. I have a feeling it could be uncomfortably warm for sleeping tonight. ... but not as uncomfortable as down in Sunny Sussex.
This has been a fairly productive day for me... apart from the afternoon which I idled away, because it was hot outside.
22.30 Tomorrow is going to be another sunny day....no it's actually 'sunny intervals' tomorrow, which suggests there will be clouds around. Anyway it's to be warm. I'm going to Methil to visit Alice and we'll do a wee bit shopping.
Michael has organised an Aberdeen top for me... the 1983 version, for Derek's celebration of Life
Service. This is apt for me because I was working at the Craw's Nest by then, and 'Fergie' had the Aberdeen FC stay at the Hotel the night, before they played Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final; and I already have the scarf for that year. Aberdeen won 1 - 0. Working at 'The Craws' was exciting!
