Restful Sunday

1st November 2015 (Sunday) ....08.30     Yes yes yes .... we have a gorgeous, bright and sunny  morning, ... the lovely golden red sunset of last night must have worked.     It’s a ‘feel good’ morning .... however, my muscles are still sore and

stiff, but should slacken orf after I have a shower.    Jings this computer has taken to writing in Welsh;  it’s either that or, I’m hitting the right keys but at the wrong time.    Better go and have that shower, then get ready f or the kirk.

22.00      For November the weather today has been excellent;   the hottest November day ever, in the UK, was recorded in Wales ... 22.4c (72.3f)    We had  a nice warm sunny day here too though nothing like that... 17c. in Ivy garden at one point.

It was good to see a lot of folks in the kirk (it was a joint service) and at the coffee afterwards:   even ‘my’ gallery had a family in it, including children, which brought the place to ‘life’.    There was a Bluebottle flying around at gallery height and as far as I could see it had the whole kirk to itself, as most of its mates lay dead on the

windowsill behind me.    It must have been strange for it...  flying the whole length of the kirk without banging it’s head on something.    That’s what Bluebottles seem to spend their lives doing;   banging into things!     This must have been one bored Bluebottle.     The Minister was also interesting;   she brought her dog “Magnus” to church, which made her ‘different’ right away.     “Magnus” was the star turn with the congregation .... and he didn’t have to do anything other than be “Magnus”.    That’s the thing wi’ dogs... they just have to be ‘stood staunin there’ and they amuse.    I could have taken him for a daunder when the service was going on, because, with other folks in ‘my’ gallery I couldn’t sing.     I can’t sing “full stop”;   but when the gallery is empty I

try!

With it being such a nice day Jim, Myra and I, led by “SD”, went for out for the Deil’s lodge – Balcarres pond walk in the afternoon.    It was bliss:  the trees are looking bonnie in their autumn tints, and it was hot for the time of year.        We were ready for our coffee in the Harbour House when we got back to Elie.

The sunset at the ‘Centre of the Universe’ was of the ‘plain’ variety today  – nae clouds.   Nonetheless it was peaceful and bonnie if not spectacular.    It takes a few clouds to make an interesting sunset such as we had yesterday.

Photographs : all taken on Balcarres this afternoon.
