Sunny with a cooling breeze .....

24th June 2026 (Wednesday)     10.15 .... It's a lovely, sunny morning;  the patio thermometer is

already at 21C.     We have a cooling SW breeze,that is taking the edge off the heat, but that doesn't take away from the damage the sun can do to delicate skin.    That said I don't intend going out in the midday sun anyway, but will still use the sun cream.

The sheets are on the line;  in fact they could be dry by now.  I'll leave them until after midday before bringing them in, and hanging out the downie cover.    It has been all 'go' at Ivy this morning:   it's 'Flap Off' time now.


20.00    I decided to go to the harbour when I was at Elie this morning;  but I don't think I'll be doing that again, at least not in the middle of the day;  it's too busy with cars, and getting back up to the top of the town can be tricky.    I did think of getting The Buggy out early in the morning, but I think that will be after 'summer'.   It feels strange going o the harbour and not meeting anyone I know!

It has been another lovely day, and the cooling breeze made the heat bearable.   I didn't go out, even to 'The Hutte' in the afternoon.   Bringing the sheers in, and hanging out the downie cover was all I did out in the sun.   The patio thermometer got up to 24C this afternoon;  not as hot as it was yesterday;  thanks to the cooling breeze.
Scotland v Brazil this evening in the World Cup.    Kick off is at 23.00.   I'll watch some of the game, but I'm not staying up until 01.00.    Of course if it's an exciting game;   I might stay up till the end.

I'm going to put the kettle 'on' them bring in the washing.   I might do the ironing when waiting for the game to start.   Right now I need a cuppa.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Nice morrrrrrrrrrning .....

4th April 2026 (Saturday)     09.40 .... We have a bright and breezy' morning;  a good morning for the joggers (been there done that.... and i wish I could do it now) that were out early.    I shall have morning coffee in 'The Hutte, because although the sky is cloudier now that it was earlier, we still have sunny spells, but light rain showers are mentioned in the weather forecast for KY9:  with gales overnight into Saturday morning. 14.45    I've been doing some research;  and playing with the pictures I got, off the Photo Frame, last night.    The weather has deteriorated ans we not have an overcast sky, with occasional spells of light rain;  and the wind has freshened a bit.    I'm going to make a fresh cuppa, then settle down to watch the News.     And have my afternoon catnap!   I blame the cat that meandered in yesterday;  it reminded me that I enjoy a catnap! 19.30  ...
