Light rain ....

16th June 2026 (Tuesday)    10.00 ..... It's overcast, with light rain at the moment, but it should

brighten up, to give us sunny spells in the afternoon.    There's a light, southeasterly  breeze, so not as warm as it should be in June.    It's cosy down in 'Sunny Sussex'.

14.15    Michael and Janice went to Leven to get some bits and pieces:  I stayed  at home nursing a cold I have.   I picked it up last Thursday in the 'Store'; so should begin to feel 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' tomorrow.

The weather has been a bit of a let down this morning;  but the sky is brightening up now and we expect sunny spells shortly.   We've been watching the tennis from Eastbourne (Queen's) and can see that it's sunny in, would you believe it.... 'Sunny Sussex'!

15.00    Michael and Janice are away for a walk, so I am thinking of going out to The Hutte for 'afternoon coffee'.   That said;  the sun has yet to break through the cloud, so it might not be warm out there.

Good News from the Middle East!.... at last we have some form of Peace Deal!   Let's hope it leads to a long lasting peace in the area.   In fact;  let's forget the history of the Middle East up to now:  and start a new period of peaceful co-existence, with neighbour helping neighbour., instead of killing each other.  It would be hard work to get to that stage, but the present 'Peace Deal' could be seen as a New Beginning for the Middle East!

19.30    The sunny spells never came to much;  in fact it has been a mostly overcast and cold afternoon.,  but at least it was dry!   Michael and Janice went long the beach, then up  to Chapel Green for their walk;  and got some good photies of the storm damaged Chapel Green House wall.   I started to watch the tennis from Queen's, but fell asleep and woke up to a different match.

Oh dear;  this 'war stuff' with Russia, has me worrying  that it's all about finding money for the Defence'

budget.   A not so subtle way of the Triple Lock on the pension being removed.   I disagree with that:  someone that has worked hard, and contributed for for 50 years deserves a decent pension at the end of their working lives!    I do agree that  the welfare State needs serious looking at;  the person, photographed on holiday in Mexico, could the tip of a huge iceberg!    And, yes;  I know that there are folk that need, and rely on Welfare;  it's the 'chancers' that need to be sorted out.
