Heavy showers ....

2nd June 2026 (Tuesday)    09.30 ..... We've just had a short, but heavy, shower that has upset

today's  'plan!   Today's plan? .... was to hang out a downie cover that is in the machine ... and ready ready to hang out!   New plan?..... hang it out and hope for the best!   I've checked the Fife Weather cams, and the Kinghorn one had a couple of 'bloo' patches in the sky!    I'm a happy boy again.   

19.30    The weather has been kind to me today, the washing dried long before the showers arrived in the afternoon.    Actually we've enjoyed a nice mostly sunny day.... and it has been warm.

I had a broken night's sleep because it was so hot.   I eventually fell asleep;  then slept in!.

The good news is ? .... the summer cold I had,  has broken, and I'm beginning to feel better.    It's always the same after I get the 'summer' booster jab;  I end up with a 'summer cold'!    It could just be coincidence of course;  but every summer booster I've had I catch the cold!  Anyway I'm hoping that this is the start of a nice, warm, but not too hot summer, with rain at night to take care of the flower tubs.   I had to miss out on a trip to Leven Golf Club with the girls today for lunch, because I still have a cough;  however even that is beginning to quieten down.

After lunch I rook time out to go to Elie to pick up my prescription.  I meant to go to the 'paper shop' but the mobile 'Royal Bank' arrived and I was in his parking space so ... nae paper.    I came home by by way of Balbuthie Farm, but that road is in a serious state now;  with what looks like a water leak, causing potholes all over the road.   I won't going that way for a long time;  in fact not until I know that the source of the problem has been fixed, and the road  resurfaced.

We have a nice wet evening!   Did I say nice! .... yes, I did.   The flo'er tubs are being watered as I type! 


We're to have another showery day tomorrow so I'll work in the bedroom;  have a quiet 'work' / rest day.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
