Nice morning ....

29th June 2026 (Sunday)      10.00 .... We have clouds scuttling over on a fresh, Westerly, breeze

this morning.   At times it looks like we could get a light shower;  but showers aren't expected until later in the afternoon.    The air is healthier, with the pollen count at Medium;  so It's a nice morning for the joggers, as long as they aren't bothered by hay-fever.   Me? ....I'm going to have a 'rest' day.

19.00   It has been another, warm sunny day;  but we did have a cooling Westerly breeze  and clouds that obscured the sun now and again. So it has been bearable; but I can well understand why the folk in the Middle east have a siesta.    

This was going to be rest day but I did 'ousework in the morning, and pruned a rose bush that has been interfering with my string of patio lights.   The lights lit up the patio just perfectly for having a late evening coffee, until a week or so ago when the only lit up as far ad the rose bush.    After the pruning I joined the wires together and hope they will light up later tonight.

Some of the clouds coming over have been promising looking;  as is they might water the flower tubs on the way over:  I haven't been lucky so far.   I'll give the clouds another two hours, before I think of filling the watering cans and doing their job for them!

Andy Burnham (probably our next Prime Minister) introduced himself, and his 'Plan' for the UK, at a  meeting in Manchester this morning.   He said he would do things 'differently'.   The devolving of power to local areas of England being  one of the most important bits of the 'Plan':  you could call it. 'Giving Power to the People'.    Anyway .... 'Andy'  reminded me of a friend of mine, 'Big Al' from Manchester;  'Big Al' and I  worked in the same office at GHQ MELF, (Cyprus), but in different shifts.   

The sun is shining brightly, the clouds are fewer, so I might have to water the flower tubs after all!    I'll

have a cuppa before I do anything else!

The weather forecast has been checked;  I was relieved to see that we're to have rain showers overnight and tomorrow.   We have a 'happy boy' in Ivy tonight.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Nice morrrrrrrrrrning .....

4th April 2026 (Saturday)     09.40 .... We have a bright and breezy' morning;  a good morning for the joggers (been there done that.... and i wish I could do it now) that were out early.    I shall have morning coffee in 'The Hutte, because although the sky is cloudier now that it was earlier, we still have sunny spells, but light rain showers are mentioned in the weather forecast for KY9:  with gales overnight into Saturday morning. 14.45    I've been doing some research;  and playing with the pictures I got, off the Photo Frame, last night.    The weather has deteriorated ans we not have an overcast sky, with occasional spells of light rain;  and the wind has freshened a bit.    I'm going to make a fresh cuppa, then settle down to watch the News.     And have my afternoon catnap!   I blame the cat that meandered in yesterday;  it reminded me that I enjoy a catnap! 19.30  ...
