Nice morning .....

20th June 2026 (Saturday)      09.45 ....  We have near enough a 'wall to wall' blue sky .... and it'swarm!    A decent spell of summer weather is long overdue.    I'm going to look out the sun cream!

We had a late night watching Scotland v Morocco in the World cup in the Boston Stadium.    All the venues used for the World Cup matches are spectacular  some even super spectacular!    And all seem to be full at any of the games I have watched.

22.30     It had been a proper sunny summer's day;   and warm, verging on hot in the afternoon.   It was certainly too hot for me in 'The Hutte'.   That said;  I have been really tired today.... and have been falling asleep.    'The Boy' won't be staying up to watch football until 01.00 again, as I did last night watching Scotland play Morocco.   I'll be in bed by 23.00 tonight.

Michael and Janice are out with friends from Sussex tonight.    There's a band playing at Shell Bay Caravan Park do the're over there.    Me? ..... I am ready for bed tonight.


We're going  to 'The Ship Inn' tomorrow;  I'm looking forward  to going out, but hope it isn't too hot.    Tomorrow is the last full day of Janice and Michael's holidays:  they have an early start  on their journey home on Monday morning.   Janice and Michael haven't had much of a holiday, as the have made the meals;  all I have done  is  the washing up via the dishwasher.   I certainly appreciate all the work they have done....but most of all I have enjoyed their company.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
